Congratulations Steven on your outstanding PhD defense!
new preprint out! Great collaboration with our neighbors from the Simon Wiegert lab
Fresh from the bench! We published 4 new preprints on bioRxiv. Check them out!
check out our latest review accepted in @FrontiersIn Neurorobotics as part of the special issue “Cross-Modal Learning: Adaptivity, Prediction and Interaction” Cross-talk of low-level sensory and high-level cognitive processing: development, mechanisms and relevance for cross-modal abilities of the brain. (2020). Xiaxia Xu, Ileana Hanganu-Opatz and Malte Bieler
We show that pyramidal neurons in superficial layers of the prefrontal cortex are key elements causing disorganized oscillatory entrainment of local circuits in beta-gamma frequencies.
We are happy to welcome 3 new people to our lab!!
We compare the development of the prefrontal-hippocampal network across 6 different mouse models of mental illness.
In it, we identify ephys features that in both mice and humans closely track proxies of anesthesia depth:
Chronic boosting of early oscillatory activity in neonatal prefrontal cortex leads to premature dendritic growth, as well as impaired gamma activity.
